Jordyn's Swim Update

I haven't said much about Jordyn's swim lessons because after her drowning incident she has been super afraid of putting her face in the water ... until this weekend.

Jaylee School Update

So she did ok August 5th and 7th. The week after, she whinned a lot before going to class, but she did not make a big deal and stayed through lunch. I picked her up a little after lunch was over, while everyone was napping and she just sat next to the door waiting for me.

Last week, on Tuesday August 19th, her teacher was out, but she did GREAT with Ms. Lisa. Our next step happened on Thursday, when Ms. Cathy returned. Jaylee stayed ALL day for the FIRST time! I was super nervous and could not stop looking at my watch. She did AWESOME! Took a nap when it was nap time, woke up happy, played in the sandbox and when I came to pick her up ... She was NOT ready to go home! AND ANOTHER MILESTONE, she did not wet her diaper all day ... she went on the toilet!! So now the teachers are requesting pull-ups, yay!

Yesterday Jaylee was a bit fussy going into her classroom, but she went in and sat down with Ms. Cathy. However at nap time (which is Cathy's lunch time) she refused to take a nap. I went to pick her up and bumped into Cathy at the parking lot. Cathy said she would try to calm Jaylee down. Sure enough, Jaylee stopped crying (after an hour!) and I did not have to pick her up afterall! A bump on the road, but I'm confident that Jaylee is adapting.

Birthday Weekend

Happy Birthday to my cousin (Cris) who went to Las Vegas this morning.
After swim lessons we went to Cousin Nick's 6th Birthday.

After that we headed over to my friend's son's 1st birthday ... kinda far ... but we don't miss first birthdays ... at least try not too. The girls had a wonderful, wonderful, FUN day!

They got their bikes!

Yes, Jaylee got her bike for being a big girl. AND what a big girl she is. She learned how to pedal a big bike AND break in about 20 minutes.

Jordyn got her bike because Daddy felt bad for her. As always, Jordyn is sooo mature. She really wanted to ride Jaylee's bike but Jaylee would not let her. So Jordyn stayed on the side and waited until Jaylee gave her a turn. Jordyn pedalled just a little bit and Jaylee would say "my turn" and Jordyn gracefully got off and even helped Jaylee with a little jump (push) start. It touched both Daddy and Mommy's heart. Jordyn made a bad choice to give up her bike for a couple of Princess Chap Sticks, but she understood the choice she had made. She deserved a bike too! :)

No Tears!

Tuesday morning I told the girls to get ready to go to school. Jaylee instantly said she did not want to go to school. I sat her down and had a little talk with her. I mentioned that her little friend who is a year younger than her goes to school and he is a good boy. She said she would be a good girl too. I assured her that I would come pick her up after her lunch. She said OK.

When we got to school she got out of the car, we took Jordyn to her class first, then it was Jaylee's turn. Jaylee walked into her classroom and went straight to her teacher. I signed her in and walked over to give her a kiss. She did GREAT!!! NO TEARS!!! It's definitely a milestone for her.

I picked her up around noon and again she was sitting by the door waiting for me. She did not eat a big lunch, but that's ok. I fed her some oranges at home and she took her nap. If she can do this again on Thursday ... we are getting her a BIG GIRLS BIKE!! I will keep my fingers crossed! At least now she says school is fun!
