Jaylee's Speech

I have not posted about this, even though I should to keep track of her improvements and what I have learned. Jaylee has been going to speech therapy for about a month now. She started in July, the process to get the help has taken us about 3 months!

Did I jump the gun? Jordyn had a vocabulary of over 100 words at 18 months and she could repeat practically everything we asked her to. I don't expect Jaylee to have the same strength as Jordyn, but she wasn't saying ANYTHING, except for "momo" for monkey and "mama" for me and "mum mum" for food/bottle. What happened to "dadda"??? Well, this week I was going to enroll Jaylee in school and I got to observe her in a classroom setting with kids 18 -20 months old. Well, NO ONE could say anything either!!! Am I a bit crazy??

Either way, in the last 5 sessions we've had with the therapist, Jaylee's begun to repeat words we ask her to, and more words are coming out, such as Dadda, Elmo, Hi and Bye, Bye ... even Jordyn! Today she tried to say "Jordyn"!! I was super excited! Of course they are not as clear, but we can totally make it out now! Yea! Maybe is timing, maybe is the therapy, who knows! All I care is that she talks! "Careful with what I wish for"!! I know!

Jordyn is a Honey Bee

Jordyn moved to a new class in July, she was in the Rainbow Room, but now she is a Honey Bee. Her new teacher, Miss Annie is GREAT! Miss Annie is Korean, does not speak perfect English, but she is awesome with the kids. I noticed that Jordyn enjoys going to school so much more, and she really pays attention to each individual child to maximize their strenghts and strenghten their weaknesses.

Yes, this post is to brag about my child! Just kidding, it's just so I have a timeline on her. She came home yesterday "singing" the months of the year. I will have to get it on video so I can post it for everyone to see. I was so surprised! I just have to get her to learn the states' song next!
